our Materials

At SAMARA, we believe that beautiful fashion doesn’t have to come at the cost of the environment. Our goal is to ensure that we’re always relentless in the search for the most sustainable, revolutionary materials. This is where we’re at. Step into our materials library.

apple leather

Made from the waste by-products of the juicing industry, at orchards in Europe. Our goal at SAMARA is to one day be entirely plant-based to ensure that our materials are sustainable and require the least amount of processing. We started experimenting with coconut husks, pineapple leather and although we were able to create material, it didn’t have the premium feel that we were looking for. We found luck with apple leather, and haven’t looked back since.

recycled ocean plastics

Made from plastics that were once in the ocean. Thanks to this material, this material can now be infinitely recycled and will hopefully never end up in our oceans again. The production of each ocean backpack saves approximately one kilogram of carbon dioxide emissions and two liters of crude oil.

castor seeds

Castor beans are harvested and dried so that the bean splits. They are then pressed to extract castor seed oil, which serves as a replacement for plastics and is an impressive alternative.
